After seeing all this, you will probably understand the history and culture of the Yi ethnic group and the actual picture beneath the stereotypes. Unlike other NGOs or cultural preservation organizations, our organization will use unique and innovative methods to showcase authentic Yi culture better.
We aim to make tangible changes and impacts locally through our efforts to break stereotypes about the Yi people and to build a bridge connecting the public with the Yi community. Our organization will sell products that embody Yi cultural characteristics from Liangshan Prefecture in a nonprofit manner, using the proceeds as a donation fund for the local community. This serves as concrete proof of our concept, bringing people on a journey from understanding to experiencing, breaking stereotypes, and establishing group bonds. This fund will support local charitable activities and improve living conditions.
Next, our organization will introduce our products, which are divided into three categories: traditional Yi lacquerware, Yi specialty jewelry, and local agricultural products.
Yi Lacquerware Sales
In the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yi lacquerware shines brightly with its profound historical and cultural heritage and exquisite craftsmanship. This traditional handicraft has a long history, carrying the wisdom and dedication of the Yi people and vibrant cultural connotations.
Yi lacquerware is known for its vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Artisans select high-quality wood, carefully carve it, and then apply natural lacquer and mineral pigments to create rich and colorful designs. Each piece of lacquerware is a culmination of the artisans' hard work, reflecting the aesthetic pursuits of the Yi people and showcasing their reverence for nature and love for life.
The patterns on Yi lacquerware often depict natural scenes, such as the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, flowers, birds, and flames, symbolizing good fortune and happiness. These patterns are not only visually appealing but also carry deep cultural meanings. We can see the Yi people's unique cultural traditions and aesthetic concepts through lacquerware.
Today, Yi lacquerware represents intangible cultural heritage, attracting increasing attention and admiration. It symbolizes Liangshan Yi culture and is a unique and brilliant gem in the world's cultural and traditional craftsmanship treasure trove. By appreciating and collecting Yi lacquerware, we can gain a deeper understanding and feel the unique charm and artistic essence of this ancient ethnic group.
Therefore, our organization, "Link: Know How to Feel," has decided to offer traditional Yi lacquerware as a nonprofit product. We aim to bring this emblem of Yi culture and aesthetics to the public, transforming descriptions on paper into tangible experiences, allowing people to objectively feel the cultural and aesthetic charm of the Yi people, and breaking the stereotypes about Yi folk culture.

Leibo Navel Orange Sales
The Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, located in southern Sichuan, boasts many unique agricultural products and handicrafts due to its special geographical location and cultural heritage. The Leibo navel orange stands out among these.
Leibo County has a unique planting environment in the Jinsha River Valley region of Sichuan. The Jinsha River Valley's exceptional climate and soil conditions are highly suitable for growing navel oranges. In the 1990s, Leibo County introduced navel oranges, gradually developing it into a characteristic county industry. The moderate annual average temperature, ample sunlight, and significant day-night temperature difference in this area contribute to the accumulation of sugar in the oranges and the formation of their color. As a result, the navel oranges produced in Leibo have plump fruits, beautiful shapes, and thin, smooth skins. Regarding taste, Leibo navel oranges are known for their tender, melt-in-your-mouth pulp, crisp and refreshing texture, rich, sweet, sour flavor, and abundant juice. This unique taste has made Leibo navel oranges highly sought after in the market.
Most Leibo navel oranges are grown by local individual farmers, who rely on selling these oranges to sustain their families. In recent years, the local government has actively promoted the development of the navel orange industry by holding promotional events and providing logistics subsidies to help farmers expand their sales, contributing to rural revitalization. In 2021, the total output value of Leibo navel oranges reached 386 million yuan, increasing the average income of navel orange-producing households by more than 30,000 yuan. Today, Leibo navel oranges have also become a symbolic card of Liangshan Prefecture, introducing many people to the land of Leibo and the new face of the Liangshan Yi people.
Therefore, through our nonprofit organization, "Link: Know How to Feel," we aim to help people genuinely and objectively enjoy high-quality specialty agricultural products from Liangshan. We also seek to raise more funds for our organization's charitable activities, which are dedicated to improving the lives of local residents.
