Preface
As a multi-ethnic country, China has 55 minority ethnic groups in addition to the majority Han population. Throughout the 5000-year history, these 56 different ethnic groups have added many vibrant and diverse colors to the long history, creating a rich and unique cultural stage in China. However, the majority's understanding of this rich history and culture of minorities often stops at the brief introductions in textbooks. This lack of understanding has also led to much negative information, and gradually, "stereotypes" in society have emerged. Prejudice in society often stems from weak connections and mutual misunderstandings between different groups. In a multi-ethnic country like China, different regions' cultural differences and unique historical development have created distinct characteristics for each ethnic group. With the development of society, people's understanding of minorities has decreased, weakening the bonds between groups, which has led to many "stereotypes."
